Hannah Garnett, the special events manager for The Ronald McDonald House, emphasized the significance of the Wildcats’ involvement. “It’s really awesome to have a coach like Pope that came in and said the first day, like, we are partnering with charities in the community and not only just us, but so many charities in Lexington. And it’s really such an honor to be one of those that are chosen. It shows that they’re leading out of that place of charity and philanthropic idea first, even before they’re starting their pre-season training. And so it just really shows the culture of this team, the culture that Pope is creating.”

Kerr Kriisa, a fifth-year transfer on the U-K men’s basketball team, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I think it’s special and I think it’s super cool that we can do those things before the season, so we get to know and interact our fans closer and have a better understanding of the brand of Kentucky and playing for Kentucky and representing the whole state. So, I think it’s pretty cool.”
