CBRE Secures Major Lease for The Picklr in Austin for New Pickleball Venue

CBRE Secures Major Lease for The Picklr: CBRE has announced a significant lease arrangement for The Picklr, a Utah-based indoor pickleball franchise. The Picklr will occupy a substantial 39,642 square feet at The Preserve at 620, a newly redeveloped site in Austin, Texas. This deal marks a noteworthy expansion for the franchise into a rising market.

Details of the Lease and Facility

The lease, signed in May, was brokered by CBRE’s Will Majors and Carson Hawley, who represented The Picklr, while ECR’s Sean Couey and Jason Steinberg worked on behalf of the landlord, Vegas Sun, LLC. The Preserve at 620, located at 8201 N. FM 620, was formerly a Walmart Super Center. It has been transformed into a 225,000-square-foot mixed-use space, featuring creative office spaces, courtyards, a fitness center with lockers, a putting green, a basketball court, and a dog park.

Expansion Plans and Franchise Details

The Picklr’s new Austin location will be one of 38 new clubs opening across the U.S. The franchise is also negotiating 52 additional leases for 2024 and 2025. Karen and David Hoisington, both Austin natives, are spearheading the new location and have plans for further expansion in the area.

Role of Drew Brees

In February 2024, former NFL quarterback Drew Brees was announced as the brand ambassador for The Picklr, joining as an investor and franchisee for 20 locations. Besides the upcoming Austin venue, The Picklr already operates four locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and has branches in 13 other states.
