The organizations have teamed up to organize a pickleball tournament featuring 18 teams from various local groups, all in a bid to raise funds to eliminate lunch debt for students in the area.

In addition to tackling debt, the day aims to inform families about applying for free or reduced lunch, encouraging those who might be unsure of their eligibility to complete the necessary paperwork.

“Filling out the paperwork is vital. The more data we can provide to the USDA and federal government, the more funding our schools receive, which ultimately benefits all students.” – (spokesperson from Lift Up Sarpy)

The pickleball tournament brings the community together and serves as a fun and engaging way to support a worthy cause. As teams from various organizations compete, the event shows the collective effort needed to ensure that no student is burdened by school lunch debt.
