Allen County Pickleball Tournament Returns to Support Causes

Allen County Pickleball Tournament: The 2nd Annual Allen County Pickleball Tournament is set to return on September 22, promising an engaging event for pickleball enthusiasts of all skill levels. Hosted by Habitat for Humanity and the Lima Firefighters IAFF Local 334, this tournament will raise funds to support Habitat homes and contribute to the construction of a new firehouse at Safety City. With 8 courts available and over 120 participant spots, the tournament will accommodate singles and mixed doubles across various skill levels and age groups.

Event Details and Format

This year’s tournament will feature a beginner level alongside three age divisions to cater to players at all stages of their pickleball journey. The organizers aim to provide an inclusive experience, making it easier for newcomers to join and enjoy the sport without the pressure of high-level competition.

Quote from the Organizer

Our pickleball tournament is for all skill levels and any age. This year, especially, we wanted to have an area just for people who are new to the sport, or maybe it’s their first tournament. As someone who played the first time I signed up for a tournament, it felt really intimidating, but the reality is we made it really easy for you to come on and play and really not be someone who has a lot of skill or plays all the time and really enjoy yourself,” said Caleb Farmer, associate director of Habitat for Humanity Lima Area.
