Arizona’s Breaking Pickleball: As of August 28, 2024, the Arizona Pickleball League has garnered national attention with its new six-episode docuseries, “Breaking Pickleball.” Originally released on YouTube, the series is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
The docuseries captures the drama and excitement of the inaugural season of the league, following five teams—the Scottsdale Scorchers, Gilbert Gladiators, Peoria Pythons, Tempe Tornadoes, and Surprise Stingers—through a 10-week competition. Only four teams advance to the playoffs, competing for the Orchard Championship Cup.
A Personal Journey Beyond the Sport

The series draws comparisons to other successful sports docuseries, such as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s “Welcome to Wrexham.” “Breaking Pickleball” highlights the personal stories of pro pickleball players as they go through the season, all unfolding at The Orchard at Jigsaw Health in Scottsdale, Arizona.
