Tournament Format
The Dink Minor League Pickleball introduces the MLPlay format, a unique team competition where four-player teams (2 men and 2 women) face off in a series of engaging matches. Each match consists of four 21-point games: women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles games.
If the score is tied 2-2 after these games, the competition moves to a Dreambreaker, where one player from each team competes in singles, switching every four rallies until a player reaches 21 points with a two-point lead.
Rules and Divisions
Teams compete in various DUPR divisions based on their aggregate DUPR scores:
- DUPR 20: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 20.99
- DUPR 18: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 18.30
- DUPR 18 50+: USAP Age 50+ only, max individual DUPR 5.10
- DUPR 16: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 16.30
- DUPR 16 50+: USAP Age 50+ only, max individual DUPR 4.60
- DUPR 14: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 14.30
- DUPR 14 50+: USAP Age 50+ only, max individual DUPR 4.10
- DUPR 12: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 12.30, max individual DUPR 3.60
Once registered, a team’s ratings are locked, and changes in individual DUPR will not affect the team’s division placement.
Single Registrations & Substitutes
Players registering individually but part of a team should indicate their team name and DUPR division. For those without a team, the tournament director will assist in placement.
Substitute players can be added by editing the team roster in Swish or contacting the tournament organizer, ensuring the team’s aggregate DUPR remains within the allowed limits.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
To obtain a refund minus a $5 technology fee and 3% processing fee, cancellations must be received by the end of the day 15 days before the event starts. For example, if the event starts on October 5, 2024, cancellations must be made by 11:59 PM local time on September 20, 2024. No refunds will be issued after this date.
