Lacy Schneemann and Jackie Kawamoto Reaches Quaters : Lacy Schneemann and Jackie Kawamoto secured their place in the women’s doubles quarterfinals of the CIBC PPA Atlanta Slam presented by Vizzy with a convincing 11-5, 11-7 win over the No. 9 seeds, Lea Jansen and Parris Todd. This match marked a significant milestone for Schneemann and Kawamoto, who are competing together for the first time.

Strong Debut Performance

As the No. 8 seeds, Schneemann and Kawamoto demonstrated impressive synergy and skill, overcoming their opponents in straight sets. Schneemann’s earlier success in the tournament, including an upset in mixed doubles alongside Tyson McGuffin, contributed to their strong showing.

Schneemann, formerly an aerospace engineer at Boeing, noted the advantages of the indoor conditions for her playstyle. “I actually prefer to play outside, but I do like the still conditions and it’s pretty fast in here,” she said. “I like to serve big and drive big, and that’s what has been working for me indoors.”

Looking Forward

With this victory, Schneemann and Kawamoto advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face off against Etta Wright and Meghan Dizon. The clash promises to be an exciting encounter as both teams look to continue their strong performances and secure a spot in the semifinals.
