Belleville to Add New Pickleball Courts: Belleville is investing over $1 million to improve its parks, with plans to add new pickleball courts, parking, and other upgrades. The work, approved by city leaders, is aimed at enhancing the Bellevue and Pleasant Hill parks.
Pickleball Courts Expanding at Bellevue and Pleasant Hill Parks
As part of the plan, the city will convert the tennis courts at Pleasant Hill Park into four courts, following the success of similar changes at Bellevue Park. The pickleball courts at Bellevue have been so popular that players often have to wait in line to get a court.
“Oh man, pickleball is crazy,”. “We’ve got people interested in pickleball, so we thought we’ll expand the offering.” (Parks and Recreation Director Poole)
Improvements to Pleasant Hill Park
In addition to the new pickleball courts, the city will also enhance the parking lot and walking trail at Pleasant Hill Park. A $15,600 design contract has already been awarded to begin these improvements.
These upgrades are part of a broader effort to make the city’s parks more accessible and enjoyable for residents. The city has seen growing interest in pickleball, and the expansion of courts at Pleasant Hill is expected to meet this demand.
Future Plans for Belleville Parks
The city’s ongoing focus on park upgrades highlights its commitment to meeting the needs of an active and growing community. As pickleball continues to grow in popularity, Belleville plans to keep improving its facilities and provide more opportunities for residents to enjoy the sport.
