Pickleball for Pathways: Sarnia Health Centre Adds Exciting New Fundraising Event

This year, the Pathways Health Centre for Children is adding a new fundraising event to its calendar—Pickleball for Pathways. The tournament will be held this Saturday at Lambton College, marking the center’s first-ever venture into the popular sport. Participants must register by Wednesday to secure their spot in the tournament.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

Pathways, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, provides crucial therapy and services for children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication challenges. While the center receives government funding, it also relies heavily on fundraising and donations to meet local needs.

New Fundraising Focus

Marcy Draker, special events lead at Pathways, explained that the decision to host a pickleball event was sparked by the agency’s desire to celebrate its anniversary in a unique way. Pathways’ CEO, Alison Morrison, suggested the pickleball tournament as a fun and engaging way to involve the community.

With the success of previous fundraising events, such as a donation from a fall pickleball event at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, the tournament promises to be a fresh and exciting addition to the center’s fundraising efforts.
