The store also includes large digital LED screens to enhance the shopping experience. The Performance store holds the largest sales floor of any Skechers store worldwide.

Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, explained that the new store provides a broad range of performance footwear, apparel, and accessories.
“With the world’s elite pros wearing our shoes from the court to the pitch, mound, and green, our retail stores’ innovative performance products have become a magnet for athletes who want game-changing product with essential comfort,” he said.
Why Edmonton?
David Beecroft, country manager for Skechers Canada, mentioned that Edmonton’s sports culture makes it an ideal location for their first Performance store.
The city hosts year-round athletic events, and Beecroft emphasized that Skechers is excited to be a part of this vibrant community. NHL legend Paul Bissonnette also helped open the store, bringing attention from sports fans.
Company Growth
The opening of the Performance store comes shortly after Skechers revealed plans to expand its performance product line. This includes footwear for sports like pickleball and running.
The company is looking to grow its presence in the performance sector, with increased sales and product innovation. Skechers reported $2.35 billion in sales for the third quarter, a 15.9% increase from last year.
