Athletes and sports fans will gather in Guelph, Ontario, for The GOOD Games 2025, Canada’s largest sports festival. Running from June 27 to June 29 at the University of Guelph Athletic Centre, the event features 12 sports, including a major pickleball competition.
The festival promises an Olympic-style experience with non-stop entertainment, food trucks, and high-level competition. This year, it will also host the Canadian National Pickleball League competition, drawing top players from across the country.
Pickleball Tournament Details
The pickleball events will take place over three days:
- June 27: Open Singles (Men & Women)
- June 28: Mixed Doubles (30+, 50+, 60+)
- June 29: Men’s & Women’s Doubles (30+, 50+, 60+)
Matches will begin at 8 AM each day, with possible time adjustments based on participation. The tournament format includes pool round robins, with the top teams advancing to a playoff round to determine medal winners. Each team is guaranteed at least three games.
Competition Format and Rules
Games will be played to 15 points, win by 1, except for the medal rounds, which have different scoring rules. Bronze medal matches are played to 15 points, win by 2, while gold medal rounds follow a best-of-three format to 11 points, win by 2.
The tournament is not sanctioned, but results will impact Pickleball Brackets ratings. The tournament director reserves the right to adjust ratings, combine skill levels, or modify the format based on time constraints.
Registration and Refund Policy
Registration costs CAD 70 per player, plus CAD 15 for each additional event. Players can register until June 26. Refunds are available until June 15, subject to a CAD 15 service fee.
