The Kelowna Open 2025 Pickleball Tournament, presented by Cristalina PARC, will be held from July 17th to July 20th, 2025, at the PRC Outdoor Pickleball Courts in Kelowna, British Columbia. This year’s event promises a fun and competitive atmosphere with unique opportunities for players to volunteer and participate in various aspects of the tournament, including desk operations, tournament logistics, and refereeing.
Tournament Overview and Format
This year, the Kelowna Open will be a Sanctioned Tournament and results will contribute to players’ Canadian Tournament Pickleball Rating (CTPR) and DUPR ratings, both of which play a role in tournament qualifications.
Due to construction at the Parkinson Recreation Centre, the event will be held on 12 permanent courts, down from the usual 24 courts. As a result, the tournament will span four days, with no singles events offered in 2025. Players are encouraged to check their paddles for approval, as only paddles listed on the USA Pickleball Approved Paddle List will be allowed for use.
The event format includes double elimination, with the ‘A’ side played best 2 out of 3 games to 11 points, and the ‘B’ side played one game to 15 points. The tournament will feature age brackets and skill brackets for mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles. Players are allowed to play up a level in skill, but not down. For example, a team with players rated 3.5 may enter the 4.0 skill bracket.
Registration Details
Registration for the 2025 Kelowna Open opens on May 21, 2025, at 7:00 AM PST and closes on July 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM PST. The registration cost is CAD 73.50. Players may register for one doubles event and one mixed doubles event. Senior players (aged 60+) can only play one event of “Doubles 60+” or “Mixed 60+” on their designated day.
Players will be guaranteed at least three games, with each match played in either the ‘A’ or ‘B’ side of the draw. Players have three days to register and complete payment, otherwise, they will be moved to the waitlist.

- Friday, July 18, 2025: Senior Mixed Doubles (Age 60+)

- Sunday, July 20, 2025: Men’s Doubles (Any Age) and Women’s Doubles (Any Age)
Venue and Amenities
The tournament will be hosted at the PRC Outdoor Pickleball Courts, located at 1800 Parkinson Way, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 4P9. The courts have a hardcourt surface and are non-covered, providing an outdoor playing environment. The tournament will use the Franklin X-40 pickleball, and there are 12 permanent courts available.
Parking is free, but players are encouraged to use the parking lot near the tennis courts to leave spots open for families with young children using the Parkinson Recreation Centre.
