Quebec Pickleball Summer Classic 2024: The Quebec Summer Classic, presented by L2 Pickleball, is set to bring fierce competition and high-energy matches to Quebec from August 9 to 11, 2024. Hosted at the Club Avantage Multi-Sport, this premier event will unfold on 24 courts, featuring a variety of skill- and age-based competitions. The tournament director retains the right to adjust the schedule and events based on unforeseen circumstances.

Event Schedule

  • August 9, 2024: Matches for categories 3.0 to 4.5 commence.

  • August 11, 2024: Medal rounds and finals for all categories.

Skill Levels

  • Categories: The tournament features skill levels from 3.0 to 4.5. Players may register in an age category equal to or lower than their current age and in a skill level equal to or higher than their current rating.
  • Assessment: Players must register at their highest current Pickleball Brackets skill rating. If a player is not rated, they should consult other players and visit the Quebec Pickleball Federation website for rating information.

Tournament Format

  • Round-Robin Play: For skill levels 3.0 to 4.5, the tournament will follow a round-robin format. Each team will play a minimum of four matches in their group. Matches are played to 15 points, with a 2-point margin, up to a maximum of 21 points. The top four teams from each group will advance to the medal round.
  • Open Categories: The format for Open categories (either round-robin or double elimination) will be determined based on the number of registrations.
  • Group Size: A minimum of 4 teams is required per group. The tournament committee may combine categories or adjust the format based on the number of registrations.

Registration and Player Profiles

Registration opens till Aug 01, 2024 11:45 PM. Players must ensure their profiles are correctly set up, including having the “Receive in-game text messages” box checked and selecting their mobile carrier to receive match notifications and court assignments. Failure to show up on time will result in a forfeiture.

Teams can register together or seek partners under “Players Needing Partners.” A registration is only complete when both team members are fully registered. If a partner fails to register within 10 days, the team will be moved to the waitlist. Once the partner registers, the team will return to the active list if space is available. Doubles teams take precedence over individual registrations.

Current International Pickleball Federation rules will govern the event. Referees will be compensated $10 per match. Players should register according to their highest current Pickleball Brackets skill rating. If un-rated, consult with other players or visit the Quebec Pickleball Federation website for guidance. Age brackets may be combined if necessary, and medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each combined bracket.

Prize Money

A minimum of $2,000 will be awarded to the Open category champions, with $1,000 distributed among gold medalists in other categories. The prize pool may increase with additional sponsorships.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available for withdrawals made by August 1, 2024, minus a $10 administration fee and the platform’s service fee. After this date, refunds will only be issued if categories are combined and a player withdraws. In such cases, a full refund will be provided, less the administration fee and service charges.
