PCA Pickleball Tournament Returns for 2024: Bigger and Better

PCA Pickleball Tournament Returns for 2024: The PCA Pickleball Club D’Acton Vale, in partnership with the “Fédération Québécoise de Pickleball,” is excited to announce the return of the Acton Vale Tournament for its second edition. Scheduled to take place from September 12 to 15, 2024, this year’s tournament promises to be a highlight in the Quebec pickleball calendar. Set across 10 courts at the Desjardins Multisports Complex, the event is sanctioned by the Quebec Pickleball Federation, ensuring a high standard of competition in line with the current IFP rules.

A Tournament for All Ages and Skill Levels

The tournament will feature a wide range of categories, catering to players of all ages and skill levels. Participants can compete in Skinny Singles, Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, with divisions based on age groups: Junior (17 and under), 12 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and a special category for those aged 70 and over. The skill levels range from 2.5 to 4.5, providing an inclusive platform for all beginners and advanced players.

Round Robin Format with Exciting Finals

The competition will be a round-robin tournament, guaranteeing each team a minimum of four games, each played to 15 points. The top teams will then move on to the quarter-finals and semi-finals, where games will be played to 15 points with a 2-point difference or a maximum of 19 points. The finals will be particularly intense, with the top four teams in each category competing in a best-of-three format, where games will be played to 11 points, with a 2-point difference, up to a maximum of 15 points.

Flexibility and Fair Play

The tournament committee has designed the event with flexibility in mind.

“Each category will consist of a minimum of four teams but we reserve the right to combine categories based on registrations and to adjust the format, whether round-robin or double elimination, depending on the number of teams.” – (committee)

This approach ensures that every participant has a fair and competitive experience.
