Pickleball Takes Off in Fenwick: The Niagara Indoor Pickleball Association (NIPA) has launched beginner pickleball clinics aimed at introducing newcomers to the sport. These clinics, held at the Centre Street location in Fenwick, are designed to provide a welcoming and non-intimidating environment for players looking to explore the game.
The Rise of Pickleball in Fenwick
NIPA’s new pickleball facility, which opened just last month, has already attracted nearly 100 enthusiastic members. Offering two indoor courts and a stage where players can relax and observe games during breaks, the venue has quickly become a hub for both seasoned players and those new to the sport.
Addressing Growing Interest
James Fraser, President of NIPA, highlighted the growing demand for beginner opportunities. “In addition to seasoned players looking for indoor pickleball options, we have been inundated with queries from people who are interested in pickleball but don’t know where to start,” he said.
Fraser added, “Our goal is to encourage newcomers to come try pickleball in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment. Adding clinics as an option for beginners is an obvious opportunity to help fuel the growth of one of the fastest-growing sports in North America.”
Clinic Details and Registration
The clinics consist of two two-hour sessions at a total cost of $25, which is refundable if registrants join NIPA. These introductory clinics are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2 and 9 from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4 and 11 from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 14 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
