Quebec’s Full Metal Racket Tournament Set to Revolutionize Pickleball Competitions

Quebec’s Full Metal Racket Tournament: The Full Metal Racket pickleball tournament will take place from February 21 to February 23, 2025, at Centre des Sports Valcartier in Courcelette, Quebec. Hosted by the Picklemania Club in partnership with the Fédération québécoise de pickleball, this event marks the first time it will be held in Quebec.

Pickleball Event Overview

The tournament will feature multiple divisions, including men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The competition will be structured based on skill level, age, or open categories, with players facing off in round-robin matches or double-elimination rounds, depending on the number of participants.

Teams must register by February 19, 2025, with an entry fee of CAD 60.00 for the first event and CAD 15.00 for each additional event.

The event is expected to attract a wide range of participants, with a minimum of four players per singles category or four teams in doubles. The Full Metal Racket will feature a competitive format where each match will be played to 15 points, with a two-point difference required for victory. The event will end in a medal round for the top four teams.

Registration and Rules

Registration opens on December 16, 2024, and closes on February 19, 2025. Players must be members of Pickleball Canada to compete. Singles matches will begin on February 22, while doubles events will start later that day.

The mixed doubles competition is scheduled for February 23. Players can participate in up to three events: one in singles, one in doubles, and one in mixed doubles. If a player does not have a partner, they can search for one during registration.

Tournament Details

The tournament will be held at Centre des sports Valcartier, located at 523 Rue Général TL-Tremblay, Courcelette, QC. The venue will feature 20 indoor courts, using the Franklin X40 ball. All players are required to wear eyewear, and the official ball for the competition will be the Franklin X40.

In the event of a withdrawal, players can request a refund up to February 16, 2025. After that date, no refunds will be issued. Players are also reminded that not arriving on time for their matches may result in a default.
