True North Pickleball Championship 2024: Kingston’s Premier Tournament Awaits

The True North Pickleball Championship 2024 is gearing up for an exciting week of competitive play from September 19 to September 22, 2024, at the Kingston Pickleball Club in Kingston, Ontario. This premier event will bring together the best pickleball players across various age groups and skill levels for a series of intense matches.

The championship will commence with setup, a social welcome event, and open play on September 18, allowing participants to acclimate to the venue and connect with fellow competitors. The tournament itself will feature a diverse range of events over four days.

  • September 19 will showcase men’s and women’s doubles in the 50+ and 65+ age categories, as well as divisions for 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 skill levels. The day will also include the Senior Open event.
  • September 20 will be dedicated to mixed doubles, including 50+ and 65+ age groups and skill levels 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, alongside the Mixed Open competition.
  • September 21 will focus on men’s and women’s doubles for the 19+ and 35+ age groups, including skill levels 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, and the Open division.
  • September 22 will conclude with mixed doubles for the 19+ and 35+ age groups, skill levels 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, and the Mixed Open.

All matches will utilize the Franklin X 40, the official ball of the True North Pickleball Tour. The tournament format includes round-robin and pool play leading into a single-elimination playoff round, ending in bronze medal games. While medal matches will be held at the Kingston Pickleball Club, some preliminary matches may take place at alternate locations and possibly outdoors, depending on final registration numbers and court availability.

Gold medalists will receive a coveted True North Pickleball Tour passport for 2025, covering registration fees for True North Tournaments throughout the year—an up to $700 value.

Participants who have not yet qualified for the championship have one last opportunity to do so before September 11. Qualifying athletes will need to confirm their participation, add their eligible partners, and complete a $50 payment to secure their spot.

The tournament promises a high level of competition and camaraderie, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity. With its diverse events and significant rewards, the 2024 True North Pickleball Tour Championship is set to be a landmark event in the pickleball calendar.
