CNPLIII Draft: The Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) has officially opened registration for the CNPLIII (2025) Pro Player Draft, set to take place on April 2, 2025. Aspiring professional pickleball players have until March 31, 2025, to complete the registration process and secure their chance to be drafted into Canada’s premier professional pickleball league.
New Structure Allows More Players to Participate
In an effort to increase inclusivity, CNPL has separated pre-season event registration from draft registration. This means that players who may not wish to go pro immediately can still compete in the CNPL Amateur Showdown events without committing to the draft. This change aims to expand participation and provide more players with the experience of competitive pickleball.
Registration Details and Fees
To be eligible for the CNPLIII Draft, players must:
- Complete the registration form
- Pay the administrative fee, which ranges from $50 to $100 CAD
- Join or build a team and participate in at least one of the CNPL Amateur Showdown events in March 2025
Two Registration Types Available
- New Players: Those who have never registered or participated in CNPL events before.
- Returning Players: Those who registered for a previous draft and played in a qualifier in 2023 or 2024. Returning players receive a discounted fee due to reduced administrative work.
Eligibility Requirements
The CNPLIII Draft is open to Canadian citizens and legal residents who are at least 18 years old and meet all eligibility conditions outlined in CNPL’s terms and conditions.
Why Join the CNPL?
The CNPL is the highest level of professional pickleball in Canada, offering players the only consistent paid opportunity to compete at the pro level. Players selected in the draft will have the chance to join one of CNPL’s teams and compete in the 2025 season.
