The inaugural Tamil Nadu Pickleball Premier League (TNPPL) will take place on February 15 and 16, 2025, at Vaels International School in Injambakkam, Chennai. The event will feature 16 teams competing for the top prize in this exciting new addition to the state’s growing pickleball scene.
Player Auctions and Sponsorships
On January 19, the Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association (TNPA) completed the player auction, signing 160 players out of more than 200 registrations. The event is sponsored by MGM Health Care, powered by Boom Cars, and co-sponsored by Madha Medical College & Research Institute. This marks a significant step in expanding pickleball’s reach in the region.
Tournament Format and Prizes
The 16 teams will be divided into two groups of eight, playing in a round-robin format. The top four teams from each group will move on to the quarterfinals. The tournament’s winners will receive a prize of ₹3 lakhs, while the runner-up will get ₹2 lakhs. The third and fourth place teams will each earn ₹1 lakh.

The league will feature teams such as Adaia Storm Breakers, Chennai Veerans, Cheeky Cheetahs, and many others. Some of the notable teams include Chennai Super Stars, Madras Guns, and the Thiruchi Thumbis. With a wide range of participants, the event promises to be a thrilling competition.
