A Sport for All Ages
Players from different backgrounds and age groups have taken to pickleball for various reasons. Many above 50 view it as an opportunity to remain active, while those aged 30 to 50 have transitioned from tennis or badminton due to its social and engaging nature.
Younger players, between 15 and 25, are approaching it with professional aspirations, seeing pickleball as a potential career path.
Competitive Action on Day 2
The second day of the tournament saw an enthusiastic turnout, with families and friends cheering on the competitors.
The team-based format led to thrilling matchups, notably between the Delhi Snipers and Nashik Ninjas, which featured intense rallies and high-energy play.
Vishal Jadhav, representing Jaipur Jawans in the Challenger League, put on an outstanding performance. A Mumbai Police inspector, he has been playing for just over a year and has already won international medals, including gold at the 2024 Asian Pickleball Games in Taiwan. “As a pro pickleball player today, it feels surreal to be rubbing shoulders with players like Kenta Miyoshi. This thrill, the atmosphere, and these opportunities will only grow multi-fold in the next 2-3 years.” – (Vimalraj Jayachandran)
Nashik Ninjas owner Karishma Thakker highlighted the significance of her team’s participation.
