The league was inaugurated by J Meghanath Reddy, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, along with Olympian paddler Sharath Kamal and actor Sathish MuthuKrishnan. The trio marked the occasion with an exhibition match, showcasing the sport’s growing popularity.

Enthusiasm for Pickleball
Reddy emphasized the league’s role in developing pickleball in Tamil Nadu.
“Pickleball is a rapidly growing sport, and initiatives like the MGM TNPPL will help nurture talent and encourage more people to participate. We look forward to seeing Tamil Nadu emerge as a strong contender in national and international pickleball events,” (J Meghanath Reddy).
Sharath Kamal also praised the event, highlighting how sports unite people.

K Mohit Kumar, secretary of TNPPL, shared the league’s vision.
“Our goal is to make pickleball a household name in Tamil Nadu and provide players with a platform to shine. With support from sponsors and the pickleball community, we are confident that this league will grow exponentially in the coming years,” (K Mohit Kumar).
