PWR DUPR Indian League: The Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) Indian League, originally set to debut in January 2025, has been delayed once again, with PWR confirming that the event is now scheduled for mid-2025. This marks the third postponement of the league, which was initially pushed to March 17-23 before this latest delay.
PWR released an official statement on social media, reaffirming its commitment to launching the league despite the setbacks:
“The inaugural edition of the Indian Pickleball League is being planned around the mid of 2025. The promoters, team owners, and players are actively in preparation to make the league a global benchmark. PWR, co-founded by The Times Group and Pranav Kohli of Pickleball United, welcomes all picklers, fans, and enthusiasts to stay tuned and participate in what promises to be a one-of-a-kind sporting extravaganza with global scale and impact.”
League Format and Prize Pool
The event is expected to feature 15 teams of four players each, competing in a format similar to Major League Pickleball (MLP). The tournament has been advertised to include a $540,000 prize pool, making it one of the largest international pickleball events outside North America.
Despite the delays, PWR has already signed over 30 professional players to compete in the league. Some of the confirmed participants include:
- Will Howells
- Jack Munro
- Erik Lange
- Casey Diamond
- Megan Fudge
- Jill Braverman
- Emilia Schmidt
- Sofia Sewing

Concerns Over Multiple Postponements
The repeated delays have raised questions about the league’s stability and future success. While PWR has emphasized that the event has not been canceled, the lack of a firm start date has led to speculation regarding financial and logistical challenges.
Upcoming Interview with PWR Founder
To provide further clarity, PWR founder and CEO Pranav Kohli is set to appear on PicklePod, hosted by professional player Zane Navratil. This conversation may offer insight into the reasons behind the delays and the current status of the league’s development.
With growing global interest in pickleball, the DUPR Indian League has the potential to be a landmark event, but its success will depend on whether organizers can overcome the hurdles that have led to its repeated postponements.
