National Pickleball Championship in Haryana Delivers 150 Medal Moments

National Pickleball Championship in Haryana: The 8th National Pickleball Championship, organized by the Haryana State Pickleball Association, concluded on October 6, 2024, at Seva Sadan in Patti Kalyana, Samalkha. This highly anticipated pickleball event, held under the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) banner, brought together players and officials from across the country for a memorable three-day competition.

A Gathering of Pickleball Enthusiasts

From October 4 to October 6, the Seva Sadan venue became the hub of India’s pickleball action. Around 400 male and female athletes, representing 19 states, competed in the championship.

For the three days, a staggering 1,400 matches were played, showcasing a mix of skill, endurance, and fierce competition. The event attracted a large turnout of spectators and featured not only the matches but also the sense of camaraderie that the sport fosters.

Championship Honors and Notable Guests

The pickleball tournament came to an end on Monday with a closing ceremony that saw the distribution of medals to the victorious players. Around 150 medals were awarded to the top performers. Chief guest Vijay Kumar, the manager of Seva Sadan Centre, led the medal presentation.

Several other prominent figures from the pickleball community were present, including AIPA secretary Chetan Sanil, treasurer Nikhil Mathure, and representatives from Karnataka, Punjab, and other states.

AIPA’s Role and Leadership Presence

In addition to the competitive matches, the event highlighted the growing influence of AIPA in promoting pickleball across India.

State secretaries such as Rajat Kankar from Karnataka, Vikramjit Singh from Punjab, and other regional leaders like Ranjan Gupta, Balwant Salunke, and Subhransu Saran Sarangi were in attendance, reflecting the sport’s widespread reach and support.

The 8th National Championship once again proved why pickleball is gaining rapid popularity in India. The Haryana State Pickleball Association, alongside AIPA, ensured a smooth and successful event, setting the stage for even bigger championships in the future.
