Drawing nearly 700 players across various age groups and divisions, the tournament showed some of the best talents in the sport. Women’s doubles runner-up Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall, one of Hawaii’s top pickleball players and a gold medalist from the PPA Australia, described the experience as unforgettable and was vocal in her praise for the tournament organizers and players. Held in New Delhi, the event brought together seasoned professionals and up-and-coming stars.

Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall expressed her appreciation for the PWR DUPR India Masters, stating that the experience was exceptional and applauding the efforts of the entire organizing team.

Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall, a top-seeded contender in the tournament, felt honored to be part of what she called pickleball’s biggest show in India.

Her dedication to the sport was evident as she competed in three of the five PRO Open events, including women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

In her women’s singles campaign, she claimed an impressive 15-12 victory over India’s eighth-seeded Snehal Patil but was ultimately defeated by top-seed Kao Pei Chuan in a closely contested quarterfinals match.

Strong Performance in Women’s Doubles

Partnering with Yuchieh Hsieh, Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall entered the women’s doubles draw as the second seed. The pair’s journey was nothing short of thrilling, defeating the fourth-seeded duo Helena Spiridis and Aiko Yoshitomi with scores of 11-4, 11-9 in the quarterfinals.

They continued their dominant form by overpowering sixth-seeded Somer Dallabona and Sarah Burr, achieving an 11-5, 11-4 victory in the semifinals.

However, the finals presented a different challenge, as they faced top-seeded Roos van Reek and Kaitlynn Hart. Despite a hard-fought battle, Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall and Yuchieh Hsieh eventually fell with scores of 5-11, 11-8, 7-11.

Mixed Doubles and Final Reflections

In mixed doubles, Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall teamed up with Naveen Beasley. Entering as the sixth seed, they began strong, defeating the 10th-seeded team of Sarah J Lim and Leander Lazaro in the opening round.

However, their run came to an end in the quarterfinals after a surprising 9-11, 9-11 loss to ninth-seeded Vishal Masand and Sarah Burr. Reflecting on the experience, Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall took to Instagram to share her thoughts, writing,
