Indian Pickleball Players’ Outstanding Performance: An impressive Indian team showed their skills at the 2024 Asia Pickleball Games, hosted by the Asia Federation of Pickleball and the Chinese Taipei Pickleball Association. Competing against elite players from across Asia, the Indian team emerged with a collection of medals, marking a standout performance for the nation.

Nitten Kirttane Shines in Singles and Doubles

At the forefront of India’s victories was Nitten Kirttane, who took home two gold medals. He first captured gold in the 50+ Open Men’s Singles category, setting the stage for a remarkable showing.

Later, he partnered with Sandeep Tawde in the 50+ Open Men’s Doubles, where the duo’s skillful play secured another gold, establishing Nitten Kirttane as a dominant force in this year’s Games.

Silver Medals Across Men’s and Women’s Categories

Vishal Jadhav added to India’s medal tally by winning silver in the 35+ Open Men’s Singles. In the women’s singles, Khushi Sachdeva and Shraddha Damani earned silvers in the 19+ and 35+ categories of the 4.0 division, respectively.

Sandeep Tawde, already a gold medalist in doubles, claimed silver in the 50+ Men’s Singles (4.0 category), further showing India’s prowess.

Strong Showings in Mixed Doubles

India’s dominance extended to mixed doubles. Vanshik Kapadia and Vrushali Thakare excelled in the 19+ Open Mixed Doubles, clinching gold, while Vishal Jadhav teamed up with Isha Lakhani to capture gold in the 35+ Open Mixed Doubles.

These wins contributed significantly to India’s medal rally, solidifying the country’s growing influence in Asian pickleball.

Bronze Medals Round Out a Successful Campaign

The Indian team also secured five bronze medals. Notable performances came from Chetan Sanil, Vrushali Thakare, Khushi Sachdeva, Shraddha Damani, Sandeep Tawde, and Johann Fernandes. Their efforts added depth to India’s impressive results, making it a memorable event for the entire team.

Hosted by the Asia Federation of Pickleball alongside the Chinese Taipei Pickleball Association, this year’s Asia Pickleball Games drew top competitors from Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, and India. India’s success at these Games strengthens its position as a rising powerhouse in pickleball.
