Launched in Dubai on July 24, the league is spearheaded by Pickleball League Asia Private Limited, in partnership with The Times Group. The League’s impressive prize pool of $645,000 (over Rs 5.47 crore) reflects the high stakes involved, promising an intense display of skill and competition for players and fans.
A Stellar Match-Up: Agassi vs. Bopanna
Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, will take on India’s tennis star Bopanna in what promises to be a star-studded exhibition. This friendly but high-profile match is expected to set the tone for the PWR DUPR India League, scheduled to begin in January.
While Agassi will be a major draw for international audiences, the Mumbai event also stands as a crucial opportunity to raise awareness of competitive pickleball in India.
The League’s Road Ahead
The PWR DUPR India League is only the beginning. Following the Mumbai leg, the league will head to Japan, continuing its journey across India to cities such as Ahmedabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Chennai, through October 2025.
