As part of an 80-person team, he’s constantly ready to support California’s ongoing battle against wildfires. Team Prepared for the Next Wildfire
Thomas and his team remain on alert, always ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice. “We’re on deck for the next one,” said Thomas.
The team has been preparing for a possible new wave of fires due to Santa Ana winds, which often cause fires to spread rapidly. These winds could affect large areas, including from San Diego County to Ventura County.

Past Experiences Shape Preparedness
Thomas has decades of experience in battling wildfires, including the massive Park Fire in Chico, which was the largest in California’s history. He’s also helped fight fires in Orange County that devastated communities near Irvine.
Thomas noted the extreme destruction caused by fires in Southern California. “The significant part of these fires is the total loss of property,” he said.
Calm Amid Chaos
Despite the danger, Thomas and his team continue to stay focused and calm. “For the fire service, we bring calm to chaos,” Thomas explained.
His team is dedicated to providing support to communities and ensuring that resources are properly distributed to those in need. “It’s a calling to help those in need,” he said.
