World Pickleball Tour’s Philadelphia Challenger: The World Pickleball Tour (WPT) is set to host its Philadelphia Challenger from April 25-27, 2025, at the Bounce Pickleball Club in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Amateur players will compete on 14 indoor courts, with registration open until April 20, 2025.

Amateur Talent Showcased in a Growing Tournament Series

The WPT, a premier amateur pickleball tournament series, is expanding its events from 25 in 2024 to nearly 35 in 2025. Medalists from Challenger events earn discounts to participate in the Amateur Invitational Championships, competing for a share of a $175,000 cash purse. Gold medalists receive a 50% registration discount, silver 30%, and bronze 20%.

Key Tournament Details

The event features skill and age brackets from 3.0-5.0 for players aged 19+, with additional categories for 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+. Players under 19 may enter the 19+ bracket.

Registration costs include a $70 fee plus $30 per event, with all participants receiving a swag bag containing hydration essentials, accessories, and a World Tour Dri-FIT T-shirt.

The tournament follows a round-robin format with eight guaranteed matches, each played to 11 points (win by 2). Once registration closes, players can add an additional skill or age event, provided there are no schedule conflicts.

Weekend Schedule and Events

  • Friday: Men’s Singles, Women’s Doubles
  • Saturday: Mixed Doubles
  • Sunday: Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles

The final schedule, including brackets and wave times, will be posted on April 21, 2025. Brackets will accommodate up to 11 teams or players and may be adjusted to ensure a competitive experience.

Additional Perks and Policies

Players can look forward to sponsored giveaways, including luxury bags and paddles, raffled off during the event.

Bounce Pickleball Club offers free parking, and as an indoor venue, the tournament will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

Refunds for cancellations will be issued as credits, minus a $30 processing fee, for use in future tournaments.
