Pickleball Slam 3 Talk Begins! Andy Roddick’s Hilarious Dig at Andre Agassi

Pickleball Slam 3 Talk Begins: Andy Roddick recently teased Andre Agassi about his marriage to Steffi Graf ahead of Pickleball Slam 3, which will take place on Sunday, February 16, at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event continues to contribute to the rapid rise of pickleball in the United States.

Roddick’s Playful Banter

In a video posted on the official Pickleball Slam Instagram account, Roddick joked that Agassi “married up” by tying the knot with tennis legend Steffi Graf. He further added that Agassi would need to step up his game in the competition due to Graf’s remarkable skills.

“Andre, there’s no doubt that you married up. The only issue is that you’re gonna be playing up.” – (Roddick)

A Legendary Tennis Couple

Both Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi had remarkable tennis careers. Graf won 22 Grand Slam singles titles and remains the only player to achieve a Golden Slam, winning all four Grand Slams and Olympic gold in a single year.

Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, was the first man to complete a Career Super Slam, a feat later matched by Novak Djokovic.

Pickleball Slam’s Growing Popularity

The inaugural Pickleball Slam was held in 2023, featuring tennis greats John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, and Michael Chang. Agassi and Roddick won the event, taking home a $1 million prize.

The second edition expanded to include both men and women, with John McEnroe partnering with Maria Sharapova and Agassi teaming up with Steffi Graf. Agassi and Graf emerged victorious, winning another $1 million prize.

The event, aired live on ESPN, became the most-watched pickleball event in the network’s history, peaking at over 800,000 viewers. Pickleball Slam 2 surpassed that, reaching 990,000 viewers.

Agassi’s Playful Dig at Roddick

In another video posted on the Pickleball Slam Instagram account, Agassi took a friendly jab at Roddick while revealing his main reason for playing in the event.

“Andy has a million reasons to play. I have just got one, and she is sitting right next to me.” – (Agassi)

“Aww, thank you. I got the best.” – (graf)
