Parris Todd’s Three-Person Drill Will Instantly Improve the Reaction Time in Pickleball

Parris Todd’s Three-Person Drill: Professional pickleball player Parris Todd recently shared a drill designed to help players develop faster hands. The exercise, involving three players, focuses on improving reaction time and shot accuracy.

How the Drill Works

The drill requires one player to stand alone while two others position themselves behind the kitchen line on the opposite side.

“If you want faster hands, you’re definitely gonna wanna do this three-person drill.” – (Parris Todd)

The solo player alternates shots between the two opponents, forcing quick direction changes.

“The person that’s on their own will hit one ball to one person, and one ball to the next. So they will switch up their spots each time they hit the ball.” – (Parris Todd)

Realistic Game Training

This drill simulates real match scenarios, improving a player’s ability to react and counter.

“What this drill really focuses on is the one person that’s alone changing the direction of the ball and being able to counter in different spots and more realistic spots to do what you would get in rec play or in an actual game.” – (Todd)

Improving Hand Speed

Each player should take turns being the solo participant for about five minutes before switching. Regular practice with this drill can enhance reaction time, accuracy, and overall game performance.
