A Journey Through Infertility and Adoption
The Wilsons have faced infertility struggles and medical challenges. After years of trying to conceive, they adopted Holyn, a decision that brought them immense joy.
“We’ve gone through years of infertility, many surgeries and a lot of heartbreak, and we ended up adopting this incredible baby girl, Holyn, and we cannot imagine life without her.” – (Thomas)
An Unexpected Opportunity
A few months ago, the couple discussed growing their family but were unsure how to proceed. Brittany recalled,
“A couple of months ago, we were talking one night about wanting to grow our little family, but we weren’t sure how. Through the Lord’s prompting, we started looking into fostering or adopting again and started seeking God on His plans for our family.” – (Brittany)
The next morning, they received a call from their adoption agency.
“That very next morning, we got a call from our adoption agency that Holyn’s birth mom notified them that she was pregnant again. She specifically asked if they would reach out to us and see if we would be willing to adopt this baby as well.” – (Brittany)
She described the news as “a blessing and answered prayer,” adding, “Something that fell right into our laps, but all part of God’s plan and timing for our family.”
Preparing for Two Under Two
The baby is due in June, though Brittany anticipates an early arrival.
“Baby is due in June, but will probably be here in May. Holyn was born about four weeks early, so we’re assuming baby might be born a little early too.” – (Brittany)
The couple is thrilled that Holyn will have a full-blood sibling.
“Holyn’s going to have a full-blood sibling, which we are so excited about. It is such an answered prayer for her and for our family to be able to go through the adoption process again and for Holyn to grow up with a sibling.” – (Brittany)
Thomas admitted that the timeline was quicker than expected.
“It’s a little quicker than we thought. They’re going to be a year-and-a-half apart, so we’re going to have two under two, so we’re for sure freaking out. But, we’re incredibly excited.” – (Brittany)
Awaiting the Gender Reveal
The Wilsons traveled to Indianapolis for a doctor’s appointment to learn the baby’s gender. Thomas believes it will be a boy, though Brittany joked that he might just be a “full-blown girl dad.”
With their second child on the way, the Wilsons continue their journey of love, faith, and family.
