Handler’s Bold Take on the Sport

In the first clip from the special, Handler shares her opinion about the sport.

“When people bang on and on about pickleball, that is not real exercise, OK? So shut the f–k up about it. You would burn more calories shoving an actual pickle up your asshole on a pickleball court then playing a game of pickleball.” – (Handler)

A Dive into Personal Stories

Handler’s new special will explore various topics, including her own birth and her teenage business ventures. The press release describes the special as featuring “a frenzy of ill-timed events all motivated by ‘the feeling.’”

Handler co-wrote and performed the special with Shannon Hartman, who has previously worked with Handler and directed “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.” Handler and Hartman are executive producers, along with Michelle Caputo.

Continuing a Successful Partnership with Netflix

Handler’s latest project continues her relationship with Netflix, where she has previously released two standup specials, “Uganda Be Kidding Me” in 2014 and “Revolution” in 2022. She has also been involved in innovative projects for the platform, including the 2016 docuseries “Chelsea Does.” This four-episode series explored complex topics like marriage and drugs with the help of experts and comedian friends.

Handler hosted Netflix’s first talk show, “Chelsea,” which ran for two seasons. This series opened doors for Netflix to explore other talk shows, including “Patriot Act,” “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman,” and John Mulaney’s upcoming show, “Everybody’s Here.”

In 2019, Handler released a documentary titled “Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea.” This film examined her own white privilege and featured conversations with celebrities like Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, and W. Kamau Bell. Handler’s return to Netflix with “The Feeling” promises to be entertaining and provocative, appealing to her fans while sparking discussions about the sport.
