DUPR Clarifies Role as PWR League Faces Second Postponement

PWR League Faces Second Postponement: The PWR DUPR Indian League has been postponed for a second time, raising concerns over financial mismanagement, unfulfilled player payments, and the league’s long-term viability. While the league had been promoted as a major step for international pickleball with a $10 million investment, ongoing financial struggles have led to uncertainty about its future.

In response to speculation surrounding its involvement, DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) has issued a formal statement clarifying its role and distancing itself from the league’s financial issues.

DUPR: No Operational Role in PWR League

DUPR, whose rating system was associated with the league, confirmed that its involvement was strictly limited to providing its platform for player rankings.

DUPR was a brand partner of the PWR League — in the same way we are partnered with thousands of other tours and events that utilize the DUPR platform,” the statement read.

“While our name was associated with the league, our involvement was solely limited to providing our rating system as a resource. DUPR had no operational role, ownership stake, or decision-making authority in PWR.”

DUPR Reaffirms Commitment to Pickleball Growth

As speculation mounted about DUPR’s role in the PWR League’s struggles, the organization emphasized that it remains committed to supporting pickleball’s growth through partnerships and technology.

“Our commitment remains to supporting the sport by providing technology and partnerships that benefit tours, players, and events across the pickleball ecosystem.”

DUPR’s clarification underscores that it was not involved in the league’s financial dealings or management, reassuring players and fans that its focus remains on the integrity of its rating system and its partnerships worldwide.

Future of the PWR League Uncertain

With two postponements and unresolved financial concerns, the PWR DUPR Indian League faces an uncertain future. The continued delays cast doubt on its ability to establish itself as a legitimate force in international pickleball, and its financial struggles may impact future investment in the sport.
