Zoey Wang Joins Pickleball Legends on JOOLA Tour Across Vietnam and China

Zoey Wang Joins Pickleball Legends on JOOLA Tour: Zoey Wang and top pickleball stars have arrived in Vietnam and China for the 2025 JOOLA Pickleball Legends Tour, bringing clinics and exhibitions to local communities. The tour includes stops in Ho Chi Minh City (March 26), Hanoi (March 27), and Shanghai (March 28-29), introducing JOOLA’s latest paddles and promoting the sport in Asia.

A Dream Come True for Zoey Wang

Wang, a 22-year-old pro from Taiwan, is thrilled to join the tour. Just a year ago, she was watching professional players online to learn the game. Now, she competes on the PPA Tour and ranks 10th in women’s singles.

“When I was still living in Taiwan, I’d watch the PPA Tour on YouTube to see how Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters played. That’s how I was learning my pickleball skills because I didn’t have a coach,” explained Wang. “I’d watch their strategy and what they were doing in games, like what they were doing between points, how they would calm themselves down, or even when they would call timeouts. Most of the time, I’d focus on Ben. He has a lot of confidence and I like his playing style.”-(Zoey Wang)

Her rapid rise has earned her a silver medal and two bronze medals in singles, along with top-30 rankings in women’s and mixed doubles. She sees the tour as a chance to inspire more players in Asia.

Family Support and a Special Reunion

Wang’s mother, Mei Chuan, will meet her in Shanghai, adding sentimental value to the trip. A former tennis player and senior pro pickleball competitor, she has supported Wang’s journey every step of the way.

“We got into pickleball together, and we were just teaching each other from seeing the pro players on TV. It was like, ‘Hey, you should try that!’ or ‘That strategy is pretty good. You should learn that.’ Basically, we just learned with each other and taught each other.”

“Now, my mom doesn’t even sleep at night during PPA tournaments. She wakes up at like 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. to watch me play on Pickleballtv.”(Zoey Wang)

Mei Chuan is especially excited to meet tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, both part of the tour.

Promoting Pickleball Across Asia

The JOOLA Legends Tour aims to grow pickleball’s presence in Asia, where it is still a developing sport. With Wang and other top players leading demonstrations, the tour will introduce more people to the game.

“Anyone can play pickleball, and this tour with JOOLA will help get people on the court in Asia, where the sport is still very new.”

“If Asian-born players can play in the U.S. to improve and get some good experience, then they can go back and help pickleball grow there. That means a lot to me.” (Zoey Wang)
