Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf’s Pickleball Obsession—Why They Can’t Stop Playing

Tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have turned their passion for racket sports toward pickleball. The couple, who rarely play competitive tennis, are now strong advocates of pickleball and travel the world to promote the sport. Recently, they participated in the JOOLA 2025 Pickleball Legends Tour in Vietnam and China.

A Growing Love for Pickleball

Agassi and Graf first discovered pickleball during the pandemic when outdoor sports options were limited. Over time, their interest grew, and they began playing regularly.

The couple recently celebrated the “Grand Slam Weekend” at The Breakers Palm Beach’s new $12 million, 16-court racquet sports complex, which includes courts for both pickleball and padel. Agassi emphasized why the sport is attracting more players.

“People who play pickleball improve their game quickly. While all types of sports lovers are playing, the age keeps getting younger.”(Andre Agassi )

Playing Together, Not Against Each Other

Despite their love for competition, Agassi and Graf follow one rule: they always play on the same team.

“We do not play each other,”. “We prefer to be on the same side of the court.”(Steffi Graf)

Graf, a 22-time Grand Slam winner, shared why pickleball became their sport of choice.

“Andre still plays tennis, but I do not much anymore,”. “We really liked learning a new sport during the pandemic and meeting new friends through pickleball.”(Steffi Graf)

In April, Agassi will be honored with Agassi Open Play Day, a nationwide event across North America, featuring tens of thousands of players competing on 775 dedicated pickleball courts in the U.S. and Canada. Earlier this year, the couple won the Pickleball Slam, a premier event with a $1 million prize.
