Master This Simple Paddle Trick to Transform the Pickleball Game

Pickleball Paddle Position Strategy: A new strategy is helping pickleball players avoid hitting outballs in the transition zone. By adjusting their paddle position lower when moving back from the kitchen line, players can reduce mistakes and improve their defensive play. This simple adjustment could help players at all skill levels gain better control.

The Importance of Paddle Position

One common mistake players make is keeping their ready position too high when moving through the transition zone. “Something we all know when we’re digging at the kitchen line is that your ready position is up here at your chest level,” an instructor explains.

However, this position doesn’t work when further back in the court. “Now the thing is, when you are back in the court, for example, in this transition zone, this should not be your ready position anymore because any ball that’s coming at this level is actually going out of bounds,” they add.

The Key to Avoiding Outballs

The solution is simple: adjust the ready position lower. “So instead of having your ready position up here at your chest, I want you to actually keep it lower near your knees, especially if you’re bending your knees,” the instructor advises.

By doing this, players are less likely to make accidental contact with balls that would otherwise land out of bounds. “Again, if you have your paddle up here, you’re more apt to hitting those outballs,” they emphasize.

A Game-Changing Adjustment

This pickleball tip is expected to help players improve their defensive game and reduce unnecessary errors. By changing their ready position based on court location, players can avoid costly mistakes and become more effective in transition play.

News in Brief: Pickleball Paddle Position Strategy

Pickleball players can avoid hitting outballs by adjusting their paddle position in the transition zone. Instead of keeping it at chest level, lowering it near the knees helps prevent unnecessary mistakes.
