New Pickleball App: The Recreational Pickleball Players Association (RPPA) launched a new app today, designed for players who love the game and the connections it creates. The app is free and available on the Apple App Store, with a Google Play version coming soon. It focuses on community, fun, and friendly competition.
A Digital Space for Rec Players
The RPPA app creates a new way for players to connect, organize games, share ideas, and improve their skills. The platform is built for the large number of players who don’t compete in tournaments but still play often and take the game seriously.
Survey data from The Fit Pickler Newsletter shows that 66% of recreational players play three to five times a week. About 30% played no tournaments in the past year, while 25% said they only joined local round robins. “The thrill of a good rally and the push to improve are what makes community courts so vibrant,” declares Elena Saris, founder of the RPPA.
“Our communities aren’t short on competitive spirit – it’s just that we balance that inherent spirit with connection, laughter, and the kind of camaraderie that lasts well beyond the final point.” – (Elena Saris)
Features That Put Players First
The free version of the app includes:
Unlimited group creation
Direct messaging with players
A court finder tool
A troll-free player forum
A vendor directory
The premium version offers:
A video library with lessons from top coaches
A discount travel booking service called RPPA Travel
“When we launched our website, players responded with overwhelming enthusiasm – ‘Finally, someone’s speaking directly to us!’ Our platform also leverages the collective buying power of dedicated players who typically play and chat multiple times per week – making us an attractive partner for vendors who recognize the value of this engaged community.” – (Saris)
Uniting Players and Building Friendships
The RPPA aims to bring together players who love the sport’s competitive and social sides. The app helps users stay in touch with friends they meet at parks, clinics, or while traveling. They can create chats for drill partners, clubs, or groups of friends.
RPPA also welcomes tournament players who care about community. The app fills a gap by focusing on social connection, something missing from most platforms that serve only tournament needs.
Looking Ahead
As pickleball grows across the U.S. and globally, the RPPA app offers a way to unite players who value the game’s energy and community. With more features and players joining, the app may become the center of recreational pickleball.
The app is now live on the Apple App Store. Android users can access the RPPA through its website, RPPA.org.
