Anna leigh Waters and Anna Bright are teaming up again on the Carvana PPA Tour. The two standout players, who last competed together in August 2023, will reunite at the Atlanta Slam in May. Their previous record together was a perfect 28-0, winning seven titles that year.
A Winning Partnership Returns
In 2023, Waters and Bright formed one of the most dominant partnerships in women’s pickleball. Despite Waters playing with Catherine Parenteau part of the year, the Waters-Bright pairing never lost a match together.
“How about 28 and 0? That’s right, didn’t drop a match. That took them to seven titles in 2023,” said Dave Fleming.
Their game record was just as impressive. “Their individual game record — 62 and 4. Yeah, that’s how dominant these two were,” Fleming added.
Both Players Have Grown Since 2023
Fleming pointed out that Waters and Bright are stronger players now than when they last competed together. “These two are going to be playing with a vengeance,” he said. “They want to show that this partnership coming together is going to pick up right where they left off.”
He added, “Both of these players are significantly better today than they were when they played together back in 2023.”
Previous Duos End on a Loss
Before this new pairing, both Waters and Bright ended their most recent partnerships with losses. Waters and Parenteau lost their final match together, as did Bright and Rachel Rohrbacher.
“What’s wild about all this is the last time that Annalie Waters and Katherine Prento played is going to be a loss, and so is the girlies — Anna Bright and Rachel Roarbacher,” said Fleming. “Which is wild considering all the success those two teams had.”
Eyes on Atlanta Slam
Fans will first see the reunited duo compete at the Atlanta Slam in May. Before that, both players are expected to appear in Major League Pickleball events.
“Everyone’s going to be watching to see, can they pick up where they left off? I think they can,” Fleming said.
He ended his update with, “That’s what the world’s going to be dealing with, baby. See you soon. Peace.”
