Pickleball Star Tina Pisnik’s Tattoo Tale: Tina Pisnik, former tennis pro turned pickleball standout, has embraced body art to celebrate her life’s journey. Now living with more than 15 tattoos, the Slovenian athlete sees each piece as part of a story that is still being written.
A Love for Art and Expression
Tina Pisnik, known for her skill on the pickleball court, is just as recognized for her tattoos. Her ink includes a full sleeve on her arm and several leg designs.
“I stopped counting how many I had after I got 15 tattoos. I say about one third of my body is covered in tattoos.” – (Pisnik)
Her tattoos include a mix of symbols and sayings—among them a dragon, a lotus flower, a cross, and a clock. Each one marks a special memory.
The words “Never forget where you come from” are inked on the back of her right calf.
Starting Young, Inspired by Rebellion
Tina Pisnik got her first tattoo at age 15. It was a Chinese symbol on her ankle.
“I just really like art. I got my first tattoo when I was 15 years old, and it was a Chinese sign on my ankle. I was super innocent at that point and I thought getting a tattoo was a very savage and badass thing to do because I didn’t get my parents’ approval. I had to keep it hidden for a while. I wore high socks back then, so I was able to hide it, but eventually they found out. My mom has kind of accepted my tattoos, but my dad is surprised every time I get another one.” – (Pisnik)
Inspired by Good Memories
Tina Pisnik doesn’t plan her tattoos far in advance. She chooses new ink based on what moves her at the time.
“I like adding meaningful things in my life on my body as my tattoos, so I’ll add a new tattoo to remind me of good things, like my dogs or a good vacation – just the good parts in life. All my tattoos are important to me or were important to me at some point in my life that it was worth putting on my body.” – (Pisnik)
She also embraces every design without regret. She even has a “No regrets” tattoo on her forearm.
More to Come
Although she has no immediate plans for more tattoos, Pisnik believes her ink story is far from over.
“My tattoos are an unfinished story.” – (Pisnik)
Pisnik continues to shine in her pickleball career, and her tattoos offer a glimpse into the personal experiences that shape who she is.
