Miri’s Pickleball Showdown: The Miri Pickleball Association will host the Miri Closed Pickleball Mayfest Tournament 2025 in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. The event will be held on May 12, 2025, at the Paragon Pickleball Center. The registration deadline is set for May 2, 2025.
The tournament will feature various individual events, including Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Competitors must be 19 years old or older and must have lived in Miri for at least six months, participating at local venues. The event is open to a limited number of participants with 16 pairs allowed per division.
Event Format and Registration
The Miri Closed Pickleball Mayfest Individual Tournament will follow a group round-robin and elimination format. For Men’s and Women’s Doubles, participants must be 19 years or older. For the Mixed Doubles, both players’ combined ages must total 80 years or more.
The registration fee for the event is RM100 per person, per division. Online registration will be available starting from April 1, 2025, on the Pickleball Global platform. Payments must be made via online banking to the Miri Pickleball Association’s account.
Prize Distribution
The prizes for each division will include trophies and medals, with the Men’s and Women’s Doubles champions receiving RM1,000, while the Mixed Doubles winners will take home RM1,000 as well. The runners-up and second runners-up in each division will also receive cash prizes and medals.
Tournament Details
The Miri Pickleball Association is aiming to bring together local players to compete in a friendly yet competitive environment. The event will be held from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the 12th of May, 2025, with the tournament ball being ODYSPORTSZ pickleballs. The rules of the tournament will be based on the 2025 USA Pickleball/IFP Rulebook.
