Sawmill Creek Park’s New Pickleball Classes: The Secret to a More Active Summer!

Sawmill Creek Park’s New Pickleball Classes: Beginners aged 18 and older can join pickleball lessons at Sawmill Creek Park in Glen Burnie, Maryland, starting July 9 through August 27, 2025. The sessions are held every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., giving adults a chance to learn America’s fastest-growing sport.

Learning the Basics of Pickleball

Participants will be taught the basic rules, how to serve the ball, and the importance of good footwork and anticipation. They will also learn to call the score before each serve and understand how to score points. Everyone is required to bring their own paddle to the lessons.

Event organizers said, “Beginners will learn to play America’s fastest growing sport!” The focus will be on developing skills in a fun and active setting.

Fun, Fitness, and Friendly Instruction

Classes will take place at Sawmill Creek Park’s Tennis Court 1, located at 7405 Charley Eckman Lane. The instructors leading the program include Mandy Baker, Lindsay Shaner, Laura Snow, Kim Emig, Ashley Bisesi, Alex Smith, Regina Passalacqua, Crystal Webb, Cherdise Foy, Michelle Semanoff, Carol McClure, Francesca Biagini, Shanita Wilkins, Lauren Lowell, Heather Harris, and Erika Goodfellow.

The program promises not only lessons but also great exercise and the chance to enjoy friendly competition with others.

Building a Strong Pickleball Community

The beginner lessons are designed to grow the pickleball community by encouraging new players to develop their skills. As interest increases, players can look forward to more games, events, and tournaments at Sawmill Creek Park in the future.
