Eugenie Bouchard’s Triumphant Return to Pickleball Action

Eugenie Bouchard’s Pickleball Comeback: Eugenie Bouchard has bounced back after suffering food poisoning while in Ho Chi Minh City for a major pickleball event. The 31-year-old is now healthy and ready to compete for the Phoenix Flames in the Major League Pickleball (MLP) tournament running from April 11 to 18.

Illness Strikes During Tournament

Bouchard shared her experience with food poisoning on Instagram. She posted a photo of a bowl of rice hidden under a bedsheet and wrote:

“Get food poisoning so was bedridden for 24 hrs. Slowly started trying to eat plain food, and woke up from a nap to this, lol.” – (Bouchard)

Despite the setback, she quickly began recovering in time for the tournament.

Return to Action With the Flames

In February, the New Jersey 5’s traded Bouchard to the Phoenix Flames. She is now teamed up with three-time Major doubles tennis champion Jack Sock. Bouchard updated fans with a second Instagram post.

She shared a selfie with Flames coach Brent Weiss in the background, captioned: “We back coach @bweisser” The MLP event in Vietnam features local players and competitors from other countries. Teams like the Bay Area Breakers and the Columbus Sliders are also participating.

From Tennis to Pickleball

Bouchard, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2014 and won a WTA title that same year, is now helping to promote pickleball across Asia. Her presence, along with other top players, is expected to boost the sport’s popularity in the region. As Bouchard returns to form, fans are excited to see her and the Flames in action throughout the tournament.
