AmBank Group will host the AmBank Malaysia Pickleball Championship 2025 from May 30 to June 1 at Pickle Nation. This national event invites 500 players of all levels. The tournament celebrates Malaysia’s 50 years of unity, sport, and community under the theme ‘Malaysia Kita.’
The event marks the first pickleball championship of its kind in Malaysia. It aims to bring people together through active living, sportsmanship, and culture. The tournament is organized by SCORE Sports Management and highlights the growing popularity of pickleball in the country.
Uniting Malaysians Through Pickleball
The championship is not just a contest but a gathering. It focuses on fun, fitness, and friendships. AmBank hopes to inspire healthier lifestyles and support youth sports. The event carries a strong community message while celebrating the bank’s golden jubilee.
“We want to celebrate our 50th anniversary through an event that brings ‘Malaysia Kita’ together in action through sport and community,” said Shazman Shahid, Head of Group Corporate Communications and Marketing, AmBank Group.
Youth Coaching and Eco-Friendly Efforts
A special youth coaching session will be held on June 1. It will teach beginners the basics of pickleball through games and fun drills. Experienced players will lead the session to grow young players’ skills and confidence.
“The championship also reflects AmBank’s ongoing sustainability efforts. A sneaker recycling initiative is among the eco-conscious activities being explored, with the aim of transforming used sports shoes into material for community tracks or court surfaces – an effort to raise awareness about recycling and environmental impact through sport,” added Shazman Shahid.
Nationwide Virtual Relay and Future Plans
Another exciting part of this program is the AmBank 50th Pickleball Relay Challenge. This virtual relay invites Malaysians to “pass the pickleball” nationwide, promoting unity and excitement before the main event.
“We also hope that in the foreseeable future, AmBank will continuously be associated with pickleball, as the official presenter of this sport among Malaysians from all walks of life,” said Shazman Shahid.
Celebrating Growth and Community Spirit
This event is a big step for pickleball in Malaysia. It brings together players, families, and communities. It also encourages healthy living, eco-friendly practices, and youth empowerment. With its focus on unity and fun, the tournament promises to become an annual highlight in Malaysia’s sports calendar.
