Inside Austin’s Pickleball Surge: How Pickle Ranch and JOOLA Are Changing the Game in Texas

Austin Pickle Ranch and JOOLA’s Partnership: Austin Pickle Ranch has partnered with JOOLA to grow the pickleball community in Austin, Texas. The facility opened in May 2024 at 11000 Middle Fiskville Road and offers 16 indoor courts. It welcomes players of all levels and supports training, community play, and official DUPR ratings.

A Vision for All Players

Austin Pickle Ranch was started by friends Tim Klitch and Dan Keelan. Their goal was to build a place where anyone could play pickleball. What began as rooftop matches on West 6th Street became a large facility just off Interstate 35 in North Austin.

The new 50,000-square-foot venue on Braker Lane has quickly become a go-to spot. Since opening, it’s attracted beginners and experienced players.

Location and Community Growth

Austin Pickle Ranch is located minutes from The Domain, a popular area in North Austin. The complex is also home to ATX Beach, which has eight sand volleyball courts, and Zoocade, a virtual zoo experience.

The team behind the Ranch is working with the City of Austin. They want to reopen their original West 6th spot and grow into new areas. Their goal is to build more places where people can play, learn, and meet others through pickleball.

Indoor Comfort and Training

The Ranch’s courts are indoors, which means players avoid the hot Texas sun. The 16 courts have CushionX surfacing, designed to keep players comfortable. A six-figure investment in sound control makes games more pleasant.

The facility is a certified partner of RacketPro (RPO), a group that trains coaches and players. As part of this, Austin Pickle Ranch hosts classes and workshops. These sessions help people improve their skills or even earn coaching certificates.

Flexible Memberships and Public Play

Austin Pickle Ranch offers two types of memberships. These give access to courts, events, and extra benefits. However, you don’t need to be a member to join the fun. The facility offers public open play so anyone can enjoy a match.

The Ranch calls itself “Pickleball for Y’all.” It welcomes people who want to play hard, meet others, or just try something new.

What Makes It Different

Austin Pickle Ranch is not just another court complex. With 50,000 square feet and top-quality gear, it stands out in Texas. “What truly sets Pickle Ranch apart is its status as Texas’ first and only DUPR Assessment Center.”

Players can get verified DUPR scores, which help track progress and support competition. Nearby sand volleyball courts and fun spaces add to the overall experience. Austin Pickle Ranch is creating a space where sport, fun, and friendship all come together.
