World Team Pickleball and DUPR Partnership: World Team Pickleball has partnered with Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating to use DUPR as the only rating system for all its events. This new partnership will make player evaluations simpler and more consistent across all divisions, including Amateur, Semi-Pro, and Pro levels.
A New Way to Rate Players
With this new system, World Team Pickleball will use DUPR ratings to place players in the right divisions: Amateur (DUPR 3.0–3.49), Semi-Pro (DUPR 3.5–4.49), and Pro (DUPR 4.5+). If a player doesn’t have a DUPR rating yet, they can attend a DUPR Coach Session or a WTP Combine.
These assessments will be held at official centers such as TTC Newport Beach, TTC Newporter, and TTC Coto de Caza. The Coach Session takes 40 minutes and gives players a starting rating from a certified coach. The WTP Combine takes 60 minutes and includes drills, match play, and skill testing. All results are recorded and added to the player’s DUPR rating.
Building Player Profiles
Once players are rated, they will receive a World Team Pickleball Player Profile. This includes their official DUPR rating, match records, social media stats, and highlight videos. This helps players show off their skills and keep track of their growth.
“Partnering with DUPR aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate the sport by providing a reliable and universal rating system for players at every level,” said Sean Bollitieri, President at World Team Pickleball.
“This partnership not only standardizes competition across our divisions, but also gives players a powerful tool to showcase their skills and track their progress.” – (Sean Bollitieri)
Tito Machado, CEO at DUPR, said,
“DUPR’s mission has always been to bring transparency and consistency to the sport of pickleball. By partnering with World Team Pickleball, we’re excited to extend our reach and provide players with a comprehensive profile that serves as both a competitive measure and a personal marketing tool.” – (Tito Machado)
Why This Matters
This partnership could change how players prepare, play, and grow in the sport. With a trusted rating system, players can compete more fairly and track their development over time. World Team Pickleball and DUPR hope this step will raise the overall level of competition and help more players get recognized.
