World Pickleball Championship in Malaysia: The World Pickleball Championship Series, the largest tournament series in the sport, will hold its first event in Malaysia from July 16 to 20, 2025. The competition will take place at The Pickle Grounds, a top-level facility on the rooftop of One World Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The tournament, called the WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025, has already attracted over 1,000 players from more than 17 countries. A total prize pool of RM120,000 will be awarded.
A Global Series Comes to Southeast Asia
The World Pickleball Championship Series was created in 2019 and has since grown into a major international event. So far, more than 80 tournaments have been hosted in over 15 countries across four continents.
Over 60,000 players have taken part in the series. This new Malaysia edition continues that global expansion. The event will offer top competition for amateurs and professional players.
High-Tech Platform and Prize Pool
The World Pickleball Championship Series works closely with Pickleball Global, the leading online platform for managing pickleball tournaments and player rankings.
The WPC uses a special system that combines rankings from WPC and the Global Pickleball Rankings. This system uses data from thousands of matches to show clear and fair rankings for players.
Government Support and Tourism Goals
The WPC Asia Grand Slam: Malaysia 2025 is fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia. The tournament also fits within the larger “Visit Malaysia 2026” campaign, which aims to make the country a major sports tourism location. This strong support from the government highlights Malaysia’s growing role in international pickleball and sports events.
