The event will raise funds for the Krijesnica Association, which helps children and families affected by cancer. The program includes games for all skill levels, auctions, giveaways, and family fun.
Bringing People Together for a Cause
The event, titled Let’s Play with a Reason, is open to beginners and more experienced players. Two courts will be set aside for beginners and two for advanced players, with round robin matches arranged for those with more experience. The day will begin with a welcome and short introduction to pickleball.
Participants can join individually or in groups. The registration fee is €10 for adult beginners, €5 for children, and €15 for families. More advanced players can register for the round robin competition for €20. Groups of four pay €40, and groups of eight pay €80.
A Family Effort and a First for Croatia
Turković, who now lives in Florida, will return home to help grow pickleball in Croatia while supporting a meaningful cause. The event is organized by Pickleball Klub 002, Croatia’s first official pickleball center, located at Veslačka Street 26A in Zagreb.
The sponsor is Dinking for Children’s Wellness in Croatia, a program founded by Lidija Lugaric Turković. Together with the Association of Croatian American Professionals and Pickleball Klub 002, the team is working to bring more attention to the sport and help the community.
