Anna Bright Haircut Confession: Professional pickleball player Anna Bright recently revealed she cut her own hair for years. She spoke about her personal grooming routine during an appearance on the “Talk Pickle to Me” podcast with host Kaitlyn Kerr. Bright only stopped self-cutting her hair in June 2024, after nearly a decade.
A Personal Story Shared On-Air
Anna Bright said she had just gotten a professional haircut for the first time since high school.
“I just got my hair cut and it was my first time since high school of getting proper layers”-(Anna Bright).
At first, Kaitlyn Kerr assumed the story would be simple. But Bright had more to share.
“This is a funny bit of Anna lore, but I cut my own hair from being about 17 years old, up until June of 2024” -(Anna Bright).
Kaitlyn Kerr was surprised by the comment.
“This is only my second time getting a haircut in a long time”-(Anna Bright).
Why She Did It
When asked why she avoided the salon, Anna Bright explained her reasons.
“It was just convenient. I would just get the urge and hack it straight across” -(Anna Bright).
Kaitlyn Kerr then asked if money was a reason for avoiding hair salons. But that wasn’t it. Bright said it was about the style and the process.
“It wasn’t even something I would try to do well, I would just do it because I kind of liked the look of it”-(Anna Bright).
“I didn’t like the look of it being super blunt, but when you do it yourself like that, it’s not perfect, so it would end up a little messy.”-(Anna Bright).

A New Look and a New Accessory
In June 2024, Rachel Rohrabacher, Anna Bright’s former women’s doubles partner, encouraged her to get a professional haircut in San Clemente, California.
Later, Bright got another haircut with layers in Boca Raton, Florida. That new hairstyle led to a new on-court accessory during the Proton Tucson Open—her chunky headband.
Bright added the headband to keep the shorter layers in place during matches.
Girls with layers often know the struggle of hair falling out of braids and ponytails while playing. The headband helped with that issue and also added a stylish touch.

What It Means Going Forward
Anna Bright’s haircut story was both funny and relatable for many listeners. Her honesty and humor made the podcast memorable. The addition of the chunky headband may also inspire other pickleball players to make fashion both useful and fun on the court.
News in Brief: Anna Bright Haircut Confession
Anna Bright told the “Talk Pickle to Me” podcast that she cut her own hair for years until June 2024. She said it was about style, not cost. Now, after two haircuts, she wears a chunky headband to manage her new layers during matches. The look is cute and practical.
