Game-Changer? SLK ERA Power Pickleball Paddle Wows Pros and Everyday Players Alike

SLK ERA Power Pickleball Paddle: The SLK ERA Power paddle from Selkirk is now available and already making a strong impression on the pickleball scene. With new Gen 3 core technology, two fresh paddle shapes, and a modern design, it promises powerful performance and precise control. Top professional players such as Rachel Rohrabacher, Catherine Parenteau, James Ignatowich, and Jack Sock have all added the paddle to their gear.

Selkirk has introduced the SLK ERA Power as part of a major shift in its paddle lineup. All future paddles under the SLK brand will now come in just two shapes—Elongated and Widebody. The Elongated paddle offers more reach and extra power, while the Widebody model focuses on a larger sweet spot and improved control.

A Closer Look at the Technology

At the heart of the paddle is Selkirk’s new Dynamic Fusion Core. This feature uses a honeycomb polypropylene center combined with low-density EVA foam around the edges and handle. It provides a solid feel, more stability, and better forgiveness on each shot.

The paddle face blends three layers of fiberglass and T700 raw carbon fiber. This mix gives players a soft touch for finesse shots and extra speed when needed. The improved octagonal handle adds comfort and control, making it easier to grip and swing.

What Top Players Think

The paddle’s performance has caught the attention of professionals who rely on both power and precision.

“This is my favorite paddle to date,”. “It’s got power, it’s got control, it’s got good grit on the face. Obviously, the game is getting very fast now — the balls are getting faster, the paddles are getting faster — it’s all happening a lot quicker. The Era Power helps me keep up.”(Jack Sock)

Rachel Rohrabacher and Catherine Parenteau started using the SLK ERA Power at the Major League Pickleball season opener in Orlando. They later secured silver at the PPA Orange County Cup in San Clemente, California, using the same paddle.

Performance on the Recreational Level

Beyond the pros, everyday players have also noticed the paddle’s strengths. Recreational players report that the SLK ERA Power feels balanced and responsive. It delivers strong shots with a solid “thud” and still offers excellent touch for soft play.

The paddle’s surface may not feel very rough, but players can still add plenty of spin. Its grip, especially on the elongated model, is firm, slim, and long enough for two-handed backhands.

What It Means Going Forward

The SLK ERA Power shows that Selkirk is raising its game in both design and technology. Its ability to offer a mix of power, spin, and control makes it useful for all skill levels—from pros like Catherine Parenteau to 4.0 recreational players. With more players making the switch, this paddle could soon become a familiar sight at tournaments and local courts across the country.
