Quang Duong Pickleball Asia Champion: Vietnamese pickleball player Quang Duong has kept his top spot in Asia, leading both singles and doubles in the latest DUPR rankings released on 10 June 2025. The 19-year-old holds 6,865 points in men’s singles and 6,638 points in men’s doubles, staying ahead of rivals across the continent.
A Clear Leader
Quang Duong is 441 points above Eric Roddy of the Philippines in singles and 453 points ahead of Phuc Huynh of Vietnam. In men’s doubles, he has over 200 points more than India’s Armaan Bhatia and Harsh Mehta. Even after a $50,000 fine from the United Pickleball Association in May 2025 for playing an unapproved event in Lao Cai, Vietnam, Quang Duong has stayed strong.
His rivals include Armaan Bhatia, who has 6,341 points in doubles, and Eric Roddy, who has 6,424 points in singles. Fellow Vietnamese player Quan Do is also among Asia’s top six.
A Quick Rise
Quang Duong was born in the United States and became a pro in 2023 after leaving tennis and paddle. The switch to pickleball was a smart move. He has already played 339 matches in 49 tournaments. He won silver at the 2024 Houston Open and beat Ben Johns, a former world no. 1, twice.
Quang Duong is also ranked no. 6 in the Professional Pickleball Association. He moved up one spot this year. Despite his suspension by the United Pickleball Association, he plans to keep playing in the United States.
Upcoming Tournaments
He is expected to join the Bristol Open and the Open at the Las Vegas Strip in August 2025. Later, he will compete in the Veolia Cincinnati Slam and the Pickleball Central Sacramento Vintage Open in September 2025.
Vietnam’s Rising Talent
Quang Duong’s success shows Vietnam’s growing impact in the sport. More top players from the country are joining international events. His aggressive style and steady focus make him a big name to watch.
His lead in Asia not only proves his skill but also brings attention to Vietnam as a strong center for pickleball in the region. Many expect him to stay at the top and keep challenging the best players around the world.
